[ Kenshin appears on the screen, the video is upside down until he turns it rightside up. He is dressed in full regalia, his head covered and difficult to tell who or what he is. His mark is on his cheek. ]

Quite an interesting device. The locals tell me this blue starfish is simply a means to communicate with others who bear the same mark. The locals reassure me that I have not been abducted and there was no reason for concern, yet I cannot remember how I got here. Such a strange location this is, almost as if we were living in a koi pond. I only pray Bishamonten will hear me even in this distant land.

To all those who find themselves in a similar predicament, allow me to introduce myself. I am Uesugi Kenshin of Echigo. Would anyone on this device know where I might find some sake?

I am not familiar with many foreign things, instruments included. I can simply tell you it does not sound Japanese.

It's sorta like a shamisen except it's way bigger and has more strings. Mine's about as tall as me and it used to weigh a ton before I got used to carrying it.
